Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am so grateful for the prayers and encouragement that you have given to me throughout this Global Year journey, first to Cape Verde and now to Guatemala. I have absolutely loved Guatemala and will cherish the people I have met and the experiences I have had in this beautiful country. I am honestly overwhelmed with emotions as this time here with this team is coming to a close. I am blown away by how the Lord has taught, grown, and challenged each member of my team, including myself. We have been able to share so many beautiful experiences stretching from hiking a volcano, worship nights, the baptizing of new believers and so much more. We have wept together, laughed together and walked through so much together here in Guatemala.

As this season comes to a close, I am elated to share the next steps the Lord is leading me to in the Fall. In September, I will be heading to Rutherfordton, North Carolina to be a part of the training for the new teams that will journey to Guatemala and Cape Verde in October. I have the opportunity to serve at the training, as well as go back to Cape Verde for a short time to be a part of the new leadership team. I will return to CV as an intern and will serve in roles much like my role here in Guatemala. Primarily the call is to follow Jesus; to be a disciple that makes disciples and to follow my Lord as he calls me to Cape Verde for another short season.

More specifically, my role here in Guatemala has been to serve the team of students and field directors. This entails being a friend and mentor to the students when they need help or encouragement, being a part of the ministries alongside of the students, running small errands around the town, and coordinating worship in our local church. In Cape Verde, I will serve alongside the Condrey family, my field directors in Cape Verde, and the new team of students as we seek to serve the Lord through different ministries. I am excited to be a part of a new team, to watch them grow in the Lord, and be challenged in so many new areas of their lives.

I am thankful to have been a part of a leadership team that has brought so much joy and has challenged me immensely in so many areas of my life. I had no idea that when I sat in the car with my brother, probably four or five years ago, after first hearing about Global Year, that I would be on this journey, but the Lord has grown me so much! On this adventure, God has graciously taught me who He really is, who I really am through his Son, and the mission I am called to as his disciple. The message of this mission has been on repeat this year: to be a disciple that makes disciples. That has been the call on this year, and is honestly the call on my life as a Christ follower. In the past two years I have learned more than I could have dreamed in these areas of my life.

I would also like for you to prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner through your prayers and finances as I seek to do the Lord’s work in Cape Verde. The amount I need to raise for this upcoming semester is $3,850. If you would be interested in becoming a ministry partner financially, please click the link attached that will direct you to the Global Year website where you can set up your donation. If you have been supporting me financially and would like to continue, it would be an immense blessing if you would continue supporting me through this next semester until the end of the year. Thank you so much for the support you have all so graciously given. I am learning that I must have faith in the next season, trusting my Lord will provide everything I need. The Lord is so gracious to open new doors and shut others. He has opened this door to return to Cape Verde until mid-December, to serve Him. I am so excited and cannot wait for what the future holds!

Gracia y Paz,

Cassidy Green.
